What is a Work Profile?

Work profiles enable the use of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) by creating two separate profiles - work and personal

Work Profile enables the creation of two separate profiles on a single device: one for work and one for personal use. On the work side, the organisation has full control to install and configure apps, security policies, and data, while on the personal use side the device owner retains privacy over their own personal apps, data and usage.

This means that the organisation can only view and manage work related apps and data on the device - personal apps, usage details or data are not visible to the organisation. In this way the same device can be used for both work and private use without having to compromise on security or privacy. 

The use of Bring your own device (BYOD) devices for work purposes is made possible by this creation of two distinct profiles on one device. Work profile notifications and icons of apps installed in a work profile are made distinguishable from personal apps.
