How geofencing is used?

Geofencing is only available if the location setting for the Companion app is set to "Allow all the time".

Importantly, location services must be turned on. The companion app fetches updated geofences approximately once in an hour (provided that geofencing is enabled for the chosen policy). Therefore, it might take time for the new geofence configurations to reach the devices. In the event of a reboot, current geofences will be re-added. After the reboot, updated geofences are fetched based on the usual hourly schedule. 

Currently, the function is limited to only one geofence per policy; however, the geofence may contain multiple actions. The limit for simultaneous geofences (i.e. geofence actions) per device is 100.
